What impact will AI have in our future?
That is a very interesting question. No one can look into the crystal ball. But we can still predict that this impact will be immense.
Just think back to 2007 when Steve Jobs stepped onto the stage and introduced the world to the very first smartphone. Instead of having a keyboard on your mobile phone, they released the first touchscreen and fully digital control of your mobile phone.
Suddenly, websites no longer had to be built in 1440/960 or 800/600 pixels. No, the website also had to be readable on a mobile phone. Because suddenly you could surf in high quality, YouTube exploded, TV channels adapted, streaming became a new concept, read emails, exchange data, manage and forward documents,… Your smartphone opened up a world without limits.
At the time, we laughed at the thought of watching TV on our phone. You had a TV at home before that, right?! That we would manage and listen to music via our mobile phone… You did that with an iPod or just on the radio in your car, right?! Navigation via your mobile phone, social media, communication platforms…. We now do more than 60% of our digital activities via our mobile phone. Who could have thought that in 2007… Who…
CEO NVIDIA : Jensen Huang talking
His statement typifies what the future will bring:
“You are not going to lose your job because of AI, you are going to lose your job to someone who uses AI. Your company is not going to disappear because of AI, your company is going to disappear because another company uses AI.”
And we are already noticing this. Transport companies that worked without TMS have been taken over or integrated into companies that do work with a TMS program in the past year.
The next step will be that companies with TMS work less efficiently and have less control over their processes than companies that work with TMS AI.
We are convinced of that. You cannot create additional time. A day has 24 hours. That’s it. Anyone who manages their work processes better, has more control, solves more efficiently, controls faster data processing, can perform deeper analyzes of profit and loss… will always be one step ahead thanks to AI. In the long term, the workflow will be so large that a transport company without AI support will fall behind and will no longer be able to catch up.
